I've had this thought from time to time... When man was created, why was it determined that all these people of different races and ethnicities live spread out in one world? If one race or ethnicity was superior to another, why weren't we all created in that image? Many questions will go unanswered during our lifetimes; thus, humans coming up with their beliefs and interpretation. Throughout history, the White race deemed themselves superior due to holding onto an ideal mindset of privilege after years of wars, stealing land, killing, and capturing natives.

Why does it take a tragic life event to happen for people to come together and unify? This Covid-19 Pandemic has become the epicenter of fire raging within the American people. Everyone wants to get back to their "normal" life routines. Black Americans want to stop dying at the hands of corrupt police officers and not be treated "less than" due to the color of our skin. The last few reported killings of black Americans by police officers was the straw that broke the camels back. WHEN WILL IT END? WILL THESE OFFICERS FACE THE PENALTY FOR TAKING INNOCENT LIVES? Watching that video of George Floyd really hurt my soul. That cop knew he killed him. Ain't no way he didn't feel George's life leave his body. Civilians screamed for those officers to check his pulse... He laid there dead for so long while that cop kept his knee on his neck.....

We see, hear, and read about police killing innocent people of color all of the time. Whether outside and/or on social media, peaceful protests would last a couple of weeks or so, then back to normal, since those same officers go without punishment for their crimes. Families receive no justice. Now it's more than being tired of this one issue. Frustration has been building up. Many have nothing more to lose. The revolution is being televised. History is repeating itself.

It's beautiful to see so many people from different walks of life stand together and march in solidarity against police brutality. Whether I agree with the riots or not, I do know that change is needed. Our "RIGHTS" are being dismissed all the time despite the laws that should "protect" American citizens. It doesn't stop the killings. It doesn't prevent the murderers from escaping with a slap of the wrist despite video evidence. Sometimes you have to make some noise before you get attention. The Black Lives Matter movement is getting more national and international recognition. People have no choice but to take notice. Unfortunately, some people are not allies and are using BLM for ill intentions; however, the protests must go on. As long as hate is taught, racism will always exist. At this point in the game, the goal is accountability and extreme action against cops who violate the code of conduct.

Thank you to everyone on the front lines. I appreciate your sacrifice. I love my non-black friends and associates that have reached out during this time to show support. I'm a black woman and a mother to a little black boy who will one day grow to be a black man. His father is a black man.

Historians prepare yourselves.... 2020 is definitely for the books. And you better get the details right! You'll be corrected on sight.

Hear ye, hear ye, hear my cry….
